Lining the bulwarks. When you have finished lining the bulwarks (Stage 47), is it necessary to drill the 1.5mm rope holes through the lining. Nothing is mentioned in either the magazine or the video. Common sense says yes, but I thought I'd ask first. I thank you for your replies. Alan. Today is the tomorrow you wished for yesterday!

Hi Alan, If I understand you correctly then there is no need to drill holes in this stage, you drill holes in the bulwark linings in stage 49 when you start to fit the cannons to accommodate the rigging and after you paint the linings. Hope this helps.. Regards Alan

Hello Alan, Thanks for your speedy reply. I understand drilling the bulkhead for rigging the guns but the holes I am querying are the 2 x 1.5mm holes for the hatch cover ropes. These were drilled after fitting the wales and are now covered up by the linings. Thanks again, Alan Today is the tomorrow you wished for yesterday!

Hi Alan, see what you mean now.... Still no need to drill these, the ropes for the gun port lids don't go all the way through the hull, the ropes are pushed into the holes and held in place with a drop of glue. I didn't drill all the way through but if you decide to drill through then its unlikely the ropes will be seen on the finished build when looking from the inside. .. Hope this helps.... Regards Alan
