BigGrin Hi All

More progress, all the sails are now fitted and the flagstaff added to the stern, just two flags to add on the rigging side along with the rope loops. The anchors have been made up and added added to the catheads and the bilge pump fixed in place.

The brass stanchions have been added and threaded with 0.5mm brass wire to both the wheelhouses and the ships stern.

Still more to add like the ships boats and the figure head.

That really is a beautiful model Andy. Must be able to see the finish line now, and that attention to the detail is definitely paying off.

BigGrin Thanks for looking in and your comments both of you.

The ships boats were made up and painted white and quite a nice result from the pre-shaped wood provided with the kit. Next it was time to complete the paddle wheels at the moment there half painted with matt black the other side will be done when there dry.

More soon

Very nice work Andy, looking really good and I love that you've left this in a natural wood finish. ThumpUp

Question: I always thought the brass fittings which the boats are slung from on a ship were called 'davits', not stanchions, or are you referring to the stanchions that make up the railings with the brass wire through them? Just curious. Mellow Cool

@ Kev, you must have missed the comma in the sentence and that the stanchions have been individually turned on a lathe to make them the work of art they are.
