Hi Phil, not from Historex Agents, bought direct from Archers Transfers, USA. I didn't know HA supplied embossed decals? The Archers' are embossed plastic rivets that you apply the same way as decals and then seal with Microsol, before you apply paint.

Forgive me if you already knew this.

Morning from 'The Dockyard'.

This weeks update on my U230 build log will look at adding extensions to the casing near to where the conning tower will be located. These extensions were fitted to U-boats which had their conning towers modified from a Turm II to a Turm IV, including U230. U230 had already been a sea going vessel for some time before it received these extensions. Later on, all U-boats were fitted with a Turm IV conning tower and extensions from new.

The Turm IV type conning tower has an extra lower platform to facilitate a 3.3cm gun. To allow the crew to walk around a Turm IV tower, extensions were added to the casing as the previous space was now very narrow.

After studying photos of U995, which was fitted with these from new, I could determine their location on my build.

The attached photo shows my diagram with dimensions.

Using the same plate I could also mark out a curve on some tread plate.

I then had to make supports so that the extensions would locate horizontally against the angled casing.
