depends on what you mean by not even, could be what is called clinker effect which is caused by not having faired and shaped the planks fully but you may not need to remove them you may be able to sand the problem out. get some pics up so we can take a look Jase “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

ronald305 wrote: HI Jase sorry they came out side ways no worries You may get away with sanding the planks smooth, however you are going to continue to have difficulty unless you sort the root cause. From what I can see you don't have nails on every former that would help. can I ask how you are bending the planks? consider the kettle method. see my link below. https://youtu.be/FQQNlNPw1J8 you may also find this helpful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOcXJE748AM
It also looks like the fairing has not be done enough to shape the edges of the ribs and bow formers. I would recommend removing the planks. take the nails out hold the planks over a boiling kettle and gently prise off the planks, don't worry if you do break them as you should have some spares but try not too if you want to talk PM me with your mobile number and I will call you Jase “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

I soaked the planks in hot water then used a plank bender iron, was I supposed to nail the planks to every former Ronald

I have pm you with a fuller answer but only remove the bow planks if you have no issues at the stern. the soaking method you are using is perfectly ok although a little slow. I think once you have corrected the fairing and if you over bend the planks a little and nail at every former then you should find that your problem goes away let me know how you get on Jase “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

Can you post your PM here, Jase? I'm sure it will be useful to those coming up behind.

There are a number of waist loosen the glue. you can use a DIY Heat gun or hairdryer to heat it up and peel it off. or you can soak it in hot water mixed 50/50 with white vinegar apply it with a brush and soak the water until it is malleable. However I would do your fairing as much as possible first you may find you can file most of the glue away as your sanding the formers.
