Have you tried a base coat of gloss black like when using Alclad?

Hi steve used zero chrome on the front bumper which required black base coat, one coat of clear and then zero chrome air brushed over....not to happy with the overall finish....i do have a spare front bumper which i will be airbrushing with Alclad chrome.
On a happier note i have completed re-spray of front end and semi gloss black to the front grills....very happy with the finish BigGrin

Lovely paint job Nick.

Its a shame your first attempt at the chrome didn't come out so good, best of luck for the next attempt Cool

still not sure abut the chrome finish, tempted to re-spray with Alclad
looks a little more aggressive with darker chrome but not sure
