Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere but now we are at the stage of fitting some details, as in the 10 cannons is it not going to make it extremely difficult to work on the underside of the Hull, no matter if you are painting or plating.Confused

I quite agree with you Commodore,
That's why I've decided not to proceed any further than the upper gun deck decking until we're given our cladding options. Adding any more to the build would make it difficult to accomplish finishing the underside of the hull. I'm several weeks behind with the build now myself, having only just reached the stage of laying the 'wales' on the side of the hull and I'm hoping that progressing at a slow pace, I'll not have to actually bring the build to halt before the options are available to us. It was mentioned elsewhere on the forum that we should be getting details of our choices around issue 56 or 57.
In the meantime, happy building

Thanks for that Daffy I think I will wait now too.

Just a thought thinking about your name. It would be unfortunate for a body guard of Colonel Gadaffi if they came under attack and he had to shout Gadaffi Duck.
Sorry couldn't resist.

The fitting of the 10 canon or what is to follow up to 60 does not make work on the underside of the hull difficult.

Hi there

This has been considered while planning the build and the hull will be completed and painted/stained before any delicate fittings are added to the deck

Thanks

Interesting that you say the hull will be "completed and painted/stained" before delicate fittings are added. - are we to understand that copper tiling the hull is no longer an option?

I don't post much as I just get on with things, I have posted a few times to ask a specific question, and received very good answers from Tomick and others. Now it may just be me, but I'm getting fed up with the copper plating thing. I looked back at my initial issue, and saw that copper plating would be an extra option at extra cost, if anyone is going down that line, why don't you just wait and see what happens. Tomick has stated in his official build diary that he is going to copper plate. So all you builders out there who are going to use copper just wind your necks in and just wait and see what happens, you will not be forgotten as Tomick is copper plating, I know I am repeating that a lot, but it seems that there are people on the forum that seem to think that this is a slagging off arena and general De Agostini put down area, but at the end of the day, thay are supplying us with a very good model, at a price that makes it affordable for us who cannot buy the full kit straight away. As stated by Tomick and Deag they can only help with the official magazine build, if anyone goes off and does their own thing with the kit, then it is up to the individual to sort out their own mess, and yet again, copper plating is NOT part of the build, it is an option, so lets just keep quiet about it until Deag and Tomick tell us when copper is available, and stop cluttering up the forum with questons about copper plating.

As I said at the start I don't post much, but when something irks me then I have to give my input.

Rant over.
