I have recently taken a liking to the old sailing ships on this site, such as the Constitution, and was thinking that there might be some mileage in a series of builds around the name "Enterprise".

Firstly, the 1799 Schooner class that fired the first shots in the first Barbary War, or the Barque-rigged screw sloop with the same name from 1874.

Then the motorboat that served as a patrol boat [SP790]from 1917 to 1919 and then was transferred to the Bureau of fisheries.

And you could end up with the aircraft carriers CV-6 and CVN-65. Or even delve a little into the future with CVN-80.

But mainly, I'd like to see the 1874 version.

I agree Enterprise is a loverly ship and would sit well between the sailing ships and more modern warships, but I doubt enough people know of her for a part work to be possible.

I would think the SS Great eastern would be a good bet from that period
