A close up photo. The numbers were very fiddly to align. I used a small drop of PVA to hold them in place which afforded me plenty of time to manoeuvre them as they never went exactly in the right place first time round. Tomorrow I will flood them all with superglue so that they bond really well. It's important to get them adhered strongly at this stage before the paint goes on. Sticky Wickett attached the following image(s): Completed projects: 1/43 scale Bedford HA van / 1/43 scale MG TD sports car Current projects: 1/48 scale U-boat [U230] Future projects: 1/148 scale railway diorama / 1/50 scale R/C Volvo F89 logging truck / 1/148 scale Thunderbirds Fireflash

On the Type VIIC U-boats they used a small rectangular marker next to the zero on the draught marks for instant location. In this photo I have fixed a small piece of plastic to represent the marker. I then continued with adding rivets to the very front of the bow. These rivets have a closer spacing than the rest. I guess this was for added strength on the real thing. Overall i'm happy with how the rivets are progressing, albeit slowly. Applying these embossed transfers doesn't always work out first time and there have been many occasions where I've had to reapply several lines of rivets. The draught marks look really good and add that extra bit of detail. They will come into their own when painted matt white against the dark, grey hull. My next riveting update follows next week where I will be applying some of the many weld lines around the bow area. Thanks for looking in, have a great weekend and happy modelling. Hello Phil, been away from home for a week so missed your previous update, but what a fantastic job you are doing of the external detail with all of these rivets and plates, etc, fabulous work!!
As you say "the devil is in the detail" and I think this is one of the most devilishly good models I have seen - very well done mate.
