Hi All,

Newbie to signing up here but been lurking around the forums for a while now gathering information from the official build diary!

I received issues 26-29 yesterday and was excited to test the projector however sadly it doesn't appear to be working and i'm not sure if its because of a faulty board or the same issue as everyone else is having.

I've read the stickied thread and other build diaries but don't seem to have come across anyone with same issue as me - the board doesn't appear damaged or anything but when I go to test the projector with S2 it just projects a blank circle on the wall. Pressing S1 on its own does nothing and same if I press it with S2.

Do I need to get in contact with customer services for a replacement board or do you think this will iron out when the build is near complete?

Thanks in advance :)
Andrew

It doesn't sound like a problem with the projector as you are getting a circle of light. I would first double check all your connections and try replacing the batteries with fresh ones. Also check the ribbon cable connection from the screen where it connects to the board in case this has been partially pulled out.

If all the connections look ok and it still doesn't work with fresh batteries then I would contact CS for a replacement board/screen (Issue 27).

Hi Andrew

It is unusual for nothing to work at all. Could you check the connections on the board for the screen matrix, and are you using good batteries as this can effect the working of this part if not
Also, when you press the button down, are you holding it down whilst the video displays, as a quick press of the button will just show a circle?

Many thanks
Mark

Hi Graeme/Mark,

I've tried fresh batteries with no luck. Just double checked connections and all seems ok, even took them out and redid them but still no video when holding S2.

Guess i'll have to request a replacement!

I had the same problem, changing the batteries in my battery pack solved this for me.
Initially, only showed 2 projections of Luke, but shorting out pins 1 and 2 on connector J1 whilst pressing switch S2 produced Leia.

Just to update, bought some new duracell batteries to see if I coukd get same results as sickfi5h but sadly it still occured. Have contacted CS and they are sending a replacement for issue 27. Hopefully this should fix it! I'll update you all once i've installed.

Is there another possible cause for this issue? Or am I just unlucky?

I just received a replacement issue of Issue 27, put the projector unit together and still I only get the white disk. No Luke or Leia.

*edit* figured it out. Changed the batteries and this one worked.
