I collect a subscription for a friend (as well as my own), he recently built up his projector and and gets an unusual problem which leads me to think the screen is damaged. When he tests it everything starts off as it should, then after a few moments the image breaks down and all goes red. He has checked the ribbon cable and its no different. Would this require a new circuit board/screen? He sent me a video which i will try to link in when i figure out how.

Hopefully this is a link to the video of what happens.

Need to see if tgere us anything else we can do before having to order a new issue as he lives abroad so extra postage costs are incurred

It sounds like the battery is low on charge, starts off okay, then breaks up. If their is a fault, it usually doesnt work at all, can you get him to try new batteries first please.

Regards
Mark
