hi Folks Today i received a very large parcel from those nice chaps at Amazon: a 1/16th scale static kit of the famous German Tiger 1 tank . I hadn't intended to do a build log for this, as it was supposed to be just a filler while waiting for my subscription to 'Build the T72'. i haven't built a plastic model in over 40 years, so this is going to be a bit of an experiment for me (along with a trip down memory lane ' First impressions? Well obviously it's BIG! Nice artwork on the box, but it shows the tank with zimmeritt, which isn't part of the kit itself (although you do get a 'zimmeritt tool' to create your own . Inside, the instructions seem quite straightforward, and well documented, along with the camouflage schemes and decals. I haven't decided on the paint scheme yet, i thought i would see how i get on with the build and then decide later. I would like to 'weather' it a little, so it looks like it's seen some action, rather than that' fresh from the factory' look. The sprues are all boxed, but that's a topic for another day when i start the build proper. Here are some initial photos: CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Looks a nice kit and will be watching as you build her. As for the zimmy tool its a nice idea, years ago people used to make there own applicators and use paste to reproduce the zimmy. You can get several types of zimmy now some are etch sets, others 3d printed I have even seen raised decals, it has to be said though that most of the above are for 1/35 kits but you can get a set of dies in 1/16 with different heads to reproduce the Zimmy. You can see my review of the Trumpeter King Tiger here:- http://forum.model-space...spx?g=posts&t=17528
Aber do lots of etch for the Tiger 1 too in 1/16 in my review above you can see the Aber extra's I got hold of aswell as the die set for the zimmy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Gray i would say so you might have to do slight modification but nothing serious as there mostly all the same shape etc regards Phil here`s another link for Tiger 1= https://www.axels-modell...s-1-16-rc-tanks/tiger-i/COMING SOON =1/72 Italeri diorama`s Battle for the Reichstag and Stalingrad battle at the tractor factory 1/16 Trumpeter King Tiger with loads of extras ON THE GO= refurbishment of 1/25 Tamiya tiger 1 , amt Star trek kits and space 1999 models

Hi guys thanks for looking in and the encouragement I have finally made a start on this build. Initially, due to the number of parts, it does look a bit daunting , but once you read through the instructions inn order, then it seems quite clear. All the screws etc are contained in a numbered/identified plastic sleeve. Anyway, so far so good! Here's my progress so far. Stage 1: The road wheels. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Hi all, thanks for looking and your comments I have started building up the rest of the road wheels, but as they will need painting i might just skip this step for now. it's not the tyres are a pain to get back off, just the opposite, but trying to think ahead. Have to say i spent 2 hours building last night and absolutely loved it More to follow
