I have always wanted to build a miniature working engine. However, $8,000 is a bit steep !
The 1/4 kit looks good though.I wish it was metal, but then it would be $$$$$

This 1/8 scale 911 RS 2.7 engine kit from Marushin Industries (under license from Porsche) looks amazing
It has functioning internals including the crankshaft, pistons, camshafts, timing chain with tensioners, rocker arms and valves; all operated by an airbrush compressor.
There are over 500 component parts (plus hundreds of screws) in cast zinc, aluminium, copper, steel, brass and rubber. The exhaust box is also in metal and the air intake cowling is plastic, as per the original engine. Note the finely replicated cam shafts, rocker arms, crank shaft, cam chains, valves, connecting rods and cylinder heads.
Sadly is seems to be long since out of production if you can find one then grab it and run!

Looks a beautifully engineered kit and presented in an equally beautiful box. Seems almost a shame to take the parts out the box! Very nice indeed.

I have been looking for this kit for years. The only one that has come up in the past few years was one that had suffered a ton of damage and needed extensive work to fix.And that one was $1200.

Kev It is a Japanese manufacturer and I find their kits are usually beautifully presented. The company makes compressed air guns.I think they may have made some motorcycle engines too, but I dont think they made very many because they are REALLY rare. Carl
