Thanks for sending the link! Cool

Unfortunately it's an 8.8cm gun which featured on early U-boats including U552 [Trumpeter model] and U96 [Hachette model].

In 1942 the admiralty ordered for them to be removed as they proved too unwieldy to use accurately at sea. My build [U230] does not have this gun fitted, instead it has two, twin barrelled 2cm guns on the upper 'wintergarden' [area behind the conning tower] and a 3.3cm gun on the lower 'wintergarden'.

Good evening from 'The Dockyard'.

Well i'm back from my hols and back on the boat. A slow start this week, always the way when I've been away, but more rivets have been laid on the stern section .

The attached photo shows the start of laying the vertical rivet strips starting at the stern , starboard side.

More vertical rivets strips laid on the starboard side. I decided to stop when I reached the end of the free flood holes as this seemed like a suitable point to close this section out. I will carry on with these along the rest of the hull once the stern is completed.

In the same manner I started the port side vertical strips, again, using the end of the free flood holes as a marker for the start of this section.
