in issue 34 we get to test the motor. thankfully mine works as it should. i got eager and stood the leg up, supported it and drove it along, oddly is went backwards. is this normal for just the test, or have i managed to somehow get something back to front? or is this just the polarity on the test board and everything is perfectly normal. i dont want to find i have an r2 unit that goes reverse in forward lol......

BigGrin Its a low power test only to make sure the motor functions as it should and no more its direction of turn has no relevance at this stage of the build , any attempted running of the assembled unit will mearly just drain your battery's .

The main control board when fitted will give the correct commands for all functions.

Be careful not to try and rush forward to test things beyond the given instructions for any stage as this may damage the componentsCool
Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

cheers AR. it was only run as shown in the mag (connecting the wire, the test board and battery pack) for a total of about 20 seconds max. 5 seconds trying myself, 10 seconds on a video, and 5 seconds running along the ground supported. i only noticed the direction after watching the video back and just checking that was normal for the test. i have not modified anythnig in any way and was just merely questioning if it was correct or not. as i say, i didnt want to end up with a motor that runs in the opposite direction to what it should. hope this makes sense. its certainly not a complaint at all, just questioning that everything is correct.

i wonder then, with you saying its a low power test, if the finished product has multiple speeds, or speed control??

BigGrin To power RD-D2 when he is fully assembled will need Li-PO battery packs for him to function correctly all the tests for parts use only 3 AA cells in the test station so therefore a low power test at this stage of the assembly is simply that and no more.

Speculation of functions just leads to confusion and I would recommend you read the 'Key functions' in the link below:-
