Well this was proper news to me because i never knew the UK had experimented and tested a hover train.

Yes...I remember it well. I think that I first saw it on tomorrows world and was keen to follow its progress..But the powers that be at the time scrapped the idea and I think that the Japanese took it up and develloped it further. Sadly it was not the only British invention to be taken up by foreign countries...
