I have pulled out the Victories boats to build for a bit of a change. The cutter is finished as far as the planking goes and is ready to have the keel fitted. Problem is that it appears to be completely the the wrong shape.
I did not think I could go wrong as far as setting the frames and planking around them and, the boat seems to be the correct shape but I did not want to cut or rub away the keel if it was correct though. According to the instructions, it should fit and glue straight on as is. Any thoughts gratefully accepted.

Hi John, I'd say you've certainly done something wrong here but exactly what, is difficult for me to say going by the photo's you've posted. It would appear to me as though you have not test fitted the keel to the frames prior to planking as outlined and shown in the Official build otherwise any gaps at the bow and stern would have been noticeable prior to starting planking.... https://forum.model-spac...aspx?g=posts&t=3987
Would suggest for now you have a look at the official build (Link above) for the building of the cutter, it may give you an indication on the steps you have missed or done wrong..... Regards Alan

Yes that all seems clear. I got from that the test fitting was in order to get the transom at the correct angle since there was no angle piece that comes away with the frame, in this case.
The frame pieces at the bow appear to have been slotted into their fixed position as with the other boats. I can see where I should have made any adjustments at that stage from the Official Diary.
Can you be a bit more specific please?

Hi John, if you look at the official build pics you will notice when test fitting the keel onto the ribs it appears to touch all of the ribs in view. The hull at the stern and the bow, where the keel is fitted, looks to be sharper on the official build whereas your hull looks to be more rounded, as if you have sanded off the points of the frames. Can you show a couple more pics of the hull, from bow to stern and from stern to bow, without the keel fitted... Very difficult for me to see with the one pic you've provided....

Yes, I think you are correct, I suspect I didn't take account of the shape when fairing. I assumed the test fitting was for the stern only and forgot about the bow.
Unfortunately I can see there are lots of pictures in the official build but I can't display them.
