Yes, another C Type...
(You might gather I like C and D Type Jaguars)

This one is car number 3, the Ecosse car from 1953.

I'm a little way in as it's been ticking away in the background for around a year but I've decided it's time to get on with it.
Here's where it is so far...

Roy.

Many thanks for looking in chaps.

A little more done although it was a fair amount of work.
Twin coils made and fitted with ally-can brackets and a fuel filter made up.
All now in place.

Dashboard made and also now in place.
The textured ally surface on the passenger side matched the foil top from a butter tub, so it was glued in place and trimmed. A lucky coincidence...

Roy.

Thanks you guys.

Ok, the engine is now in permanently but LOTS of other stuff to add.
Next up will be the front 'picture frame' and then the suspension, 'A' arms, uprights etc etc...

Looks wonderful Roy and always surprises me to learn what some of the parts are actually made from.

Hope it continues well.
Happy Modelling

Chugging along chaps...

The outside exhausts are made and fitted - basically different dia. ally tube and plastic tube.

Carbs, manifold, fuel lines and some linkage parts in place but springs, airbox and trumpets still to add.

Manifold made in my usual way - an old guitar lead with the core stripped out, copper wire fed inside, cut and bent to shape, superglue.
Simples...

BTW - The exhausts on this car really are grey.

Roy.

A small update...

Downpipes now made and fitted so that's the exhaust pretty much sorted apart from small hex bolts on the manifold flange.
Still some little bits on the carbs to add, as well as the air box, but the front 'picture frame' needs attending to next.

Roy.

I've made the front picture frame - brass section and sheet.
All with Araldite - I'can't solder for the life of me.

Now fitted. There are still some braces and pieces of tube to add to the main engine frame and then it will be on to the A arms etc...

Many thanks chaps.
The colour is Ecurie Ecosse flag blue.

Not a huge amount happening - it's the weekend.
However, seats now made, covered in leather.
Tested to fit but not actually fixed in place yet.

Thanks chaps.

Only a small update here.

Front 'A' arms and shocks sorted and fitted.
There's an element 'artists impression' here - so although the parts are the right shape etc, the fixings are quite hefty with a brass transverse support rod between the lower arms. It's virtually invisible in the end, but the model will be pretty hefty once complete and it needs to be able to support itself for (hopefully) donkeys years.

Looking real cool Roy.

Is the firewall (if that is the correct word) metal or painted? It looks very shiny and i could not work out what you have made it from.
