Hi,

Issue 38

Chassis Plate
Wires
Brackets

The Triangular shaped bracket went on fine although there was another typo in the magazine, it notes to use JM screws but the correct screw to use is the supplied NM screws.

Next came the wires, the little brackets were a pain to install and the round stickers didn't actually stick all that well. I've seen a few of the guys on youtube use black electrical tape instead, so I started all over again and followed suit, I chose to add a few extra bits of tape in some places to keep the wires fixed down a bit better, I then attached the tabs which I found was the easier way round to do it as the wires didn't get in the way.

Some of the wires are a different colour to those shown in the magazine and wires 8 and 12 are a lot shorter than what's shown in the pics but looking around it appears to be the same for everyone so it must be ok

See you next week

May.

May. I believe that the numbers on my wires were incorrect, not the colours of the wires. If you reverse the sides that the wires go on, all the connectors come out at approximately the same length.

Other than that, I used Sellotape as I didn't have any electrical insulation tape to hand of any colour - I believe that the colour of the tape is nothing to be concerned about as it will all be covered over with the internal detailing anyway.

Hi,

Thanks for pointing that out to me, I've noticed that some have swapped them around and others have left them be, I'm going to swap them over like you point out, I think it's the safest option as the extra length should hopefully ensure that they reach the correct socket on the control board which ever way around they go.

there has been a lot of talk on the Facebook pages about the wiring.I think on the official BTTF FB group they did get Eagleomss to issue a statement to clarify about the the wiring.

you are correct Carl, Eaglemoss have said there have been changes, but still follow the instructions in the magazine.

Steve,

Can you please post a link to that information? This is the first I have heard about it and don't want to advise people to do it my way if that proves wrong. I followed the instructions by copying the locations of the wires by colour of wire, so I still followed the instructions in the magazine, but possibly not the way Eaglemoss intended.

PS. Would it have been too much trouble to add a piece of paper explaining this in the appropriate edition?

Hi,

Seems to be a lot of confusion going on with these wires, I'll leave it as it is and wait and see what happens
