Hi All,
Made the journey to the "Lincs Aviation Heritage Museum" today. Just over a three hour round trip, but worth every minute and more.
How often do you get to see a Lancaster, that also fires up all four engines, then taxis right in front of you?
Not Often.
Then you get to see four Bomber Command Veterans and chat with them while they sign your Limited edition print.
Well that`s where I`ve been today.
Pics below.
A few of the Lanc.
Casual pics of the Veterans.
Signing session.(four pics)
Sergeant James Flowers served as a Lancaster rear gunner with 50 and 44 squadrons.
Warrant Officer Harry Parkins was a Lancaster engineer serving with 630 and 576 squadrons.
Flight Lieutenant "Rusty" Waughman served as a Lancaster pilot with 101 "Special Duties" Squadron
Squadron Leader George "Johnny" Johnson served as a Lancaster bomb aimer, with 97 and 617 squadrons and he is our last remaining British Dambuster.
