Hi Guys........ me again
Build is going okay, finished planking the hull, wales , dolphins and so forth and i am merrily planking the deck. Was going really well until i reached the point in issue 45 where at point 21. "Lay 4 rows of planks from the bow to the frame 26 on the starboard side in the same way as you did on the port."
Scratches head. Didnt i lay the initial 4 rows on the port side to 27/28?....Isnt frame 26 opposite the rearmost mast hole and therefore without a deck support beam.
I thought to myself, look on the official build diary, and upon doing so, encountered another problem. The 6 planks from steps 19 & 20 should be laid to frame 25 NOT frame 24 as per text in the magazine build. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAArrrggghh !!! and looking at the picture then in step 22, they HAVE laid those 6 planks to frame 25, AND have laid the next 4 rows to frame 27.
Can i therefore assume that i should lay the four rows as per picture, not text to row 27 ?
Can i also just add an extra 7 pieces of plank to take the middle from frame 24 to frame 25 save me ripping these planks up and cutting out another mast hole, if there is enough wood to do that.
Sorry guys, I havent looked at the online build diary for a while or i may have seen it and avoided at least part of the above, will do soin future and advise others to do likewise.
