Hi
More photo's

This is the photoetch that comes with the Nautilus

You even get shaped sticky backed masking for all the windows.

I am not sure why some of the photo's are quite large, as i resized them on photobucket before posting them on here.

Looks a fabulous kit Taz and the quality of moulding on the parts is excellent! Amazed at the way those chains are moulded and the base looks very cool too as does the giant squid?!

This will be fun to build and paint and one to keep an eye on - well done Taz and good luck in the comp!! Cool Drool ThumpUp

Hi all
ModelMania, thanks for your comments.

I picked up a parcel from the post office today, my order from Paragrafix has arrived.First off, the quality of the photoetch is outstanding and better than I thought.

The lighting kit looks great but will need a bit of care to put all this together, with some careful soldering. At least you get instructions which will help.

Will be starting this shortly, when I have purchased a few more items.

Hi jase

Thank you.BigGrin
Not looking forward to the window masking, small pieces to fiddle around with. The detail does look superb, I have seen some very close up pictures I found on another forum while surfing the net

Hi all
Started the build, just a small update. I have started on the interior roof which I had to remove the ceiling panels by using a milling drill bit for my Dremel rather than try to cut them out with a scalpel. As you can see on the first photo I have gone a little too near the edge but this will be hidden by the lighting panels.
These panels are used for when you are lighting the interior.

The milling bit for the Dremel.

Start of cutting out for the lighting panels.

Image from instructions for lighting panels.

The lighting panels were glued using CA adhesive. It was better to leave the interior ceiling attached to the sprue, as it gave better stability when milling out the panels.BigGrin

I've always been really impressed with the quality of Paragrafix Photoetch, it will really add to your build.

With the lighting kit be careful when soldering, try not to solder the wires to close to the LEDs, I lost count of how many LEDs I melted by trying to solder the wires close to the LED Blink Blink

I know the P/B debacle spoiled lots of threads on numerous forums (fora...?)
but it would be great to see how this one has moved on.

I too have this kit stashed away and will eventually build it.
Every now and then I get the urge to make something that ISN'T a car...

Please - an update.
