Thanks Alan,
The next project was going to be the Sovereign of the seas, but there are a few choices, cannot decide just yet. i was hoping to get the cross section first and put it in a cabinet with the Victory but it is sold out. Going on holiday in July will decide after that I think. Any ideas how to keep the dust off it until i make the cabinet, I am using compressed air at he mo,spraying once a weekBigGrin BigGrin .
cheers mate

Thanks for all the kind words really appreciatedBigGrin BigGrin BigGrin .
I am just about to put the crew in place on the main mast deck etc, i would really like to put more of a crew on board but cannot find any more figurines, there are some on Cornwall model boats http://www.cornwallmodel...catalog/amati_crew.html
but they are 1 mm short, do you think that would be noticeable if i put them on the mizzen deck and fore deck. is there any more word on the cross section build???
thanks in advance
rob

I realize this reply is to an older post, but I've just recently joined here.
Rob showed what terrific work he did on the Victory, but wasn't happy with the paper flags. If I may, let me share what I did to make my Mamoli Constitution as she was, with 15 stars & stripes, in 1812.
1- spray adhesive to regular printing paper, affixing a piece of linen smoothly.
2- cut around edges.
3- easily found images for 15 star flags, long pennant, etc., (from Google), then sized them correctly.
4- printed them out (with just an average Epson), then printed the mirror image.
5- carefully cut out, peeled from paper, then glued together with diluted white glue.

6- sprayed with a fabric stiffener and shaped some folds into them.

(Only negative- they printed just slightly faded, but really, that's great, I did all I could to get a weathered look everywhere else)

Hope this may help someone!
