Bowsprit assembly issue 113. Wow, issue 113 is taking a long time to get through! Have hit a problem with the assembly of the bowsprit. Part 173 (x2) need to be attached to the top of bowsprit spar 1b (instruction 26/27 of issue 113 page 13). Trouble is the internal diameter of the holes in 173 is around 4 mm whilst the top of part 1b is 3 mm. This means that these parts will not fit at all. Any suggestions on how to get around this? I checked for the correct diameter of 1b and it clearly states 3 mm.

BigGrin Hi Simon. The best way of doing it is to pack the holes with some thin strip of of wood and then file them out to get a snug fit . The official build shows this

Hope this helps rgd Martyn

Hi Simon, as Martyn has already said the adding of shims (thin strips of wood) to the inside of the mast cap hole is the right way to go to get a snug fit.....Cool Cool
