Bowsprit assembly issue 113. Wow, issue 113 is taking a long time to get through! Have hit a problem with the assembly of the bowsprit. Part 173 (x2) need to be attached to the top of bowsprit spar 1b (instruction 26/27 of issue 113 page 13). Trouble is the internal diameter of the holes in 173 is around 4 mm whilst the top of part 1b is 3 mm. This means that these parts will not fit at all. Any suggestions on how to get around this? I checked for the correct diameter of 1b and it clearly states 3 mm.

Hi Simon. The best way of doing it is to pack the holes with some thin strip of of wood and then file them out to get a snug fit . The official build shows this Hope this helps rgd Martyn Building ? Hi Simon, as Martyn has already said the adding of shims (thin strips of wood) to the inside of the mast cap hole is the right way to go to get a snug fit..... Regards Alan
