So I picked up Bandais great 1/144 At At kit.I also have a studio scale resin At At and someone sent me a 3d At At file. Here are the right front thighs for a size comparison.Apparently the resin and 3d printed parts are a different size even though they are both supposed to be studio scale (1/24).Not sure which one is the right scale. The 3d printed one will be quite large. The leg alone is almost 12 inches tall. I will be building these together next year and may do a forced perspective diorama. Big display case needed for that one by the sound of it. Wonder if the "head" would be a solid or hollow 3d print because that would be a very heavy solid part in that scale. Happy Modelling

That's one big model there, you must have a very big house for these, or are you building your own security system. Mark

I've had umpteen parts printed for my big cars in the past and they are always hollow. Given how slow 3D printing is, and the cost of the material, I would imagine a solid head would take forever to print and cost mega-bucks. Roy.

Yes the body parts are hollow. The body is made up of 4 parts, the biggest of which is a 50 hour print. Not sure where I will put them once finished.Just dont tell the wifey what I am doing. She has only seen the 1/144 kit Carl

Definitely true Roy.As it is it will probably run me about $100 for filament.A solid head would probably be a 300 hour print. No thanks. Carl

That would make sense thinking about it rather than having something weighing "tons". Happy Modelling
