The Brodie stove is supplied in the kit? When I bought mine a couple of years ago, it wasn't.

Thanks mate(lotBigGrin). I'll scratch build it.

I saw you caulked the deck planks. Good idea. It looks much more realistic.BigGrin

Thanks for your comments. Alain I cheated a bit and used black marker around the edges for the caulking, you get some bleeding at the ends. If you look at Mo's build, he used black fishing line. Also the trenails in mine are the ends of cocktail sticks in in holes and sanded flat.

Hi all, Just taking the last of the photos, before enclosing everything in with the upper deck. Photobucket is still slow to apply the edits of my photos, but will catch up later I hope!

I kept the cut-out from the cockpit/hold as a dust cover!

Be a shame to cover all that good work up. But progress has to be made.

Why do you cover the waist?Blink The replica's deck is covered to comply with modern safety regulations regarding the protection of the visitors. During the shooting of the movie, it wasn't.

The Surprise's waist was an open space and the launches were stored on moveable skid beams across the waist.BigGrin

Alain, I've only done it as a temporary dust cover, while I,m making it, as I go away from home quite a lot.

Well I've not touched my Surprise for almost a year now, but I have sorted a new place to carry on the build. The only thing now is to find what I have done with some of the brass bits which I have misplaced!
