Hi Benny... i was looking at this problem the other day and come up with the idea of, air canisters, you see them in camera shops for cleaning camera lens. regards, Ian Ian Builds in progress: E-type, HMS Victory, HMS Endeavour, HMS Soverein of the Seas Wish list: Bentley Blower http://forum.model-space...spx?g=posts&m=30439

If you use a combination of a puffer brush and a vacuum cleaner you should be ok. the danger of just blowing air is you force it into corners etc especially under pressure. puffer brushes used for camera cleaning have less pressure but will do the job get a big one like the rocket they are not expensive. “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

I found that a good blow and tilting the ship upside down got all of the debris out. I also made a template the exact size of the quarterdeck opening that was taped to the beams (which will later be cut out) helped when sanding the deck. I think once these beams are cut away I'll come up with something that I can stick on the underside to prevent any further debris going in.
I found that after having cut bits of bulwark away and trimming of the openings etc, the deck around the cannons looked somewhat how it must have done after a battle.

Hi Benny, I got around the problem of dust from sanding, i bought a small vaccum cleaner made for computers. It's 250mm long and has a nozzle of 14mm by 5mm and it runs on a couple of batteries, it's quite powerful. Hope this is of use to you. Glen Roger the Cabin Boy
