Looks great Phil like the white metal parts  i`m going to spray mine with the Halfords with plastic primer first on the interior i`m waiting on my final delivery regards Phil COMING SOON =1/72 Italeri diorama`s Battle for the Reichstag and Stalingrad battle at the tractor factory 1/16 Trumpeter King Tiger with loads of extras ON THE GO= refurbishment of 1/25 Tamiya tiger 1 , amt Star trek kits and space 1999 models

Your final delivery must very soon I would of thought? Bet you can't wait when that day comes eh? The reason I chose to hand-paint the interior[s] was to save all the kerfuffle of masking off the entire boat. Plus, with all the angles, nooks and crannies, brushing meant I could get into all of those awkward areas, albeit with several coats!  Regards, Phil W. Really like all those little extras. Its going to look really good once you get all of those in place. Now the question is what would they have fried in a frying pan on a German boat? Would it be eggs and bacon  Happy Modelling

Good morning from 'The Dockyard'. After a long weekend in the New Forest, which was a very nice short break, I have only managed a couple of evenings on my U230 U-boat. But what I did manage to do is complete the painting of the torpedo compartment. The attached photo shows the lower grey banding painted, masking tape still in place. I then decided that this shade of grey was too dark and re-painted it in a lighter shade that better suits the interior. Four coats were required to get an even coat. Once the final coat was finished I peeled back the masking tape and spent a bit of time touching in the edges with various shades of grey and also white to get clean, sharp lines. Similar to last week, I have included photos of a selection of fittings and detailing parts with which to enhance the different compartments. The attached photo shows a white metal anchor. It's in 1/43 scale [7mm for railway buffs] and is ever so slightly too large. With a bit of filing and cutting I can reduce it down to 1/48 scale to suit the boat.
