Thanks everyone for your kind words. So moving on to the right service tower.This is similar to the left tower, but the platforms are a bit different.Unfortunately LVM studios instructions are wrong for this tower.They mislabel the photoetched parts for the platforms so it took some trial and error and studying getting the right platform in the right place.The next step is to prime and paint the tower green and the railings yellow.This is the last major structure to build.I have to add detail parts to all of the towers, but I will need to build the Soyuz rocket to make sure when I install the towers on the base they are in the correct position. Thanks guys, Both service towers are mounted on a base and there is a support girder attached to the tower.These towers can be lowered almost all the way down to the ground .This allows the rocket to be positioned in the base of the tower.The support arms are then swung in to support the rocket and the 2 service towers are lifted up to allow access to the top of the rocket.When the rocket is launched the service towers are lowered to the ground again.Here is a public domain picture showing a Soyuz rocket being loaded into the launch base.You can see the servie towers are lowered Each tower has 2 pistons that move the tower.I made the pistons and now they are ready for paint. OK so the right service tower is almost finished.Waiting for paint to dry so I am moving on with the build. I bought a pine circle base.I marked out and centered the launch tower base on the circle and glued some plastic pieces to the pine board which will be used to glue the launch tower base to.Next step is the stain the base. darbyvet attached the following image(s):

I also started building the Soyuz R7 rocket.I originally was going to use realspacemodels R7, but I am not that happy with the kit.The detail is pretty soft and the fit isnt that great.So I got New Wares R7.Much better detail.The only problem with this kit is the pieces are all on massive pour stubs so it takes a long time to cut the parts off the pour stubs and then sand them down.All of the parts are but joints so you have to sand very carefully to make sure that the parts fit together well.This is my workbench after a few hours of sawing and sanding. I need to build the rocket BEFORE I assemble the launch tower because I wont be able to put it in place after the main towers are in place. The next step is to epoxy everything together and paint the rocket and then I can place it in the base and start adding all of the towers to the base. darbyvet attached the following image(s):

What some incredible detail on this model. I can see why you wanted a rocket kit with enough detail to set off the gantry parts. Full credit for your construction of all that etch. It looks really good. Happy Modelling

The rocket is also finished.Attaching the small engine nozzles wasnt a lot of fun and they keep falling off.Fortunately you can really see them when in the base. I applied some of the decals, but there were a ton of tiny stencils with the kit.The decals are VERY fragile and they disintegrated even after soaking for just a couple of seconds so I gave up trying to put them on. You wouldnt really be able to see them anyway once the towers are in place. The color scheme for the rocket is based on The New Wares instructions.Apparently there is quite a bit of argument over the color of these rockets.Many people make them white which is incorrect.There are tons of photos of the rockets on the launch pad and they are often white, but that is due to ice forming on the fuel loaded rocket.If you look at the rockets being transported to the launch pad you can see they are usually dark grey with only the upper stages beign white. darbyvet attached the following image(s):

The next step is to fit the rocket to the base.I have a 2mm bras rod glued into the center of the rocket and I drilled a corresponding hole in the base after I made sure the rocket was centered in the base.The next step is to start adding the service towers to the base to support the rocket. I added the support gantries into the base.These help to support the booster of the rocket. darbyvet attached the following image(s):
