Just wondered if an admin could answer this - should we be concerned about the dome panels only being held on by adhesive tape? Just wondered about how these would fare over time. Having a dome panel fall into the main body of the model because the tape lost its stickiness (or as is more likely in my house - because little fingers pushed it in) would be a pain.

I think you will also get some outward push by the frame. I think those two things will work, but I agree, would rather see the non moving pieces a little more firmly held in place.

I thought about this issue when I first looked at the build images, however I'm sure that the intricate dome 'skeleton' that we've been building will hold the pieces tightly & securely in place.
The double sided tape looks like it's main job is to just to hold the inserts in place during the assembly process & alignment.

The double sided sticky tape adhesive is strong, care must be taken when placing the panels into the dome as it is not easy to adjust once in place.

As Mark has already said the tape is very strong and also the top of the skeleton dome has a key slot that matches the metal dome key slot. Once in its correct position it is a tight fit and all the panels so far supplied are supported by the skeleton and will not be pushed out by pressing on the outside. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

just to add, step back a moment. your building a model, not a toy. its a very expensive one at that. keep it away from children. Building: Ghostbusters Ecto-1, Ford GT40, Gone in 60 seconds Eleanor mustang, Shelby Cobra Complete: R2D2, Red Bull RB7 RC, Battleship Bismarck, Shelby GT500 'super snake'

A model that has numerous moving parts and an interactive app to control it. I think leaving it on a shelf is a shame, and loose parts is a valid concern.

Sorry, but there's no way I wont be sharing this with my 6 yr old son who's a massive star wars fan. Part of the fun of building this is to see his reaction when it's finished
