Hi All, I finished painting barrels & chests. In hindsight, I should have painted steel before I applied the wash. All the timber basecoat is a mixture of Tamiya XF10 Flat Brown and XF 64 Red Brown. In some instances I mixed in some XF60 Dark Yellow to lighten the Flat Brown a little. The steel on the barrels and chests is GW Boltgun Metal. The baskets and sacks are a base-coat of Tamiya XF59 Desert Yellow and XF60 Dark Yellow. My basic method was: 1. Prime using the appropriate aerosol primer, metal primer for the cast bits and plastic primer for the resin parts. 2. Airbrushed with the above colours. 3. Applied black ink wash. 4. Once dry I dry-brushed starting with the original base colour and progressively lighter colours. To make the treasure, I filled the open chest with some tissue paper soaked in white glue to form the bulk. The jewels are “Jewel Tape” from a stationary outlet and the gold coins are gold glitter. Try to get the larger diameter glitter as it looks more like gold coins. I found this idea on Youtube (Keyword ‘D&D treasure pile’) I must have made almost double the barrels etc, but once installed, the deck still looks a little bare. Kind regards, Garth Garth attached the following image(s): "Measure twice, cut once!!!" Finished!!! HMS Victory, Current build: Black Pearl. On hold: Bismarck, Golden Hind, Flying Scotsman, Victory Cross Section, SOTS, Tiger 1. Wish list: USS Constitution.

Hi All, I fitted the upper deck to test lights. It looks like there is sufficient light in the open areas, but the front 3 cells could do with some more light. Back to the drawing board Kind regards, Garth Garth attached the following image(s): "Measure twice, cut once!!!" Finished!!! HMS Victory, Current build: Black Pearl.
