Thanks Guys, appreciated as always....  Spent my time on the next part of the build namely, applying filler to the hull... This is a task that many novices tend to rush or they simply look for the obvious blemishes and deal with them, only to be disappointed when the primer is added. You'd be surprised at the blemishes that will show through so take your time when you come to this part and be methodical as you work along the hull. I inspect the hull very closely and any imperfections I believe that may show through when primed gets a coating of filler. Remember, the vast majority of filler will be removed when sanded down. Here is how she looks just now and this will be left overnight to thoroughly dry before starting the sanding process. Hi Alan, Great job mate. I agree about the blemishes, depending on the light, some are damn near invisible until you apply a thin skim of filler..surprising what shows up!! You've put a lot of awesome work into your builds..Plenty of very useful tips that the newby's to this kind of modelling would love!! Hope you do not mind me asking but what sort of filler do you use on your models please. I tried some from mantua a while back. Sold as an easy sanding filler but it never stuck very well and was way to soft. A few years ago i bought some wood working filler that dried so hard it was just about impossible to clean back. Happy Modelling

So have now completed stage 13, filling and sanding down. Even with care, I think I'd be living in a different planet if I were to believe that once primed no more blemishes will be seen....  .. I'm sure some will appear..... Sanding started off with a course grade sandpaper to remove the bulk of the filler, then a medium followed by fine grades. Lastly a sanding sponge before cleaning all the sanding dust off.. this is where an airbrush really comes in handy, gets into all those nooks and crannies.... ... Next step is to mask off ready for the first coat of primer to be applied. Will post again when masking is done so until then, happy building all..... Looks nice and smooth from the pics .Sanding has to be the worst part ,looks like you got through it though. Man he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day will cease to be Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

Thanks Phil, appreciate you looking in and commenting... I did say I would post some pics once the masking process was done so here they are. First off was to ensure the main deck was masked off completely, this is certainly one area I don't want to see any paint bleed on. Stern section has been completely masked off although further painting to this area will be done later. Applied masking tape to the inside of the gun ports, this is to protect the blackened gun supports. She is now ready for the first coat of primer and hopefully this will be applied tomorrow providing the weather holds. Can only prime this one outside so fingers crossed. Nice work sanding down the filler Alan. That hull looks good and smooth now, but I expect the primer will show up any more imperfections. Are you going for a fine museum quality finish, or are you going to leave a few imperfections (and weathering)to capture her as she would look after a few years of service? Whichever you choose, I know we'll see a superb model take shape. Look forward to your next update.

Thanks David, appreciate the comments.... .. This one is being built as an out of the box build, no changes or enhancements will be done..... Moving on a little further, it was good to see the weather was kind for me today and allowed me to get the first primer coat on... Here is how she looks and you can see how time taken on the filling and sanding stage has really paid off.. Am please with how it turned out after the first coat with only a couple of minor blemishes to put right. This will be done tomorrow and with a little more luck with the weather I hope to get the second primer coat applied... Lots of painting to be done yet so until next time, happy building all....
