Well...its taken me another year, but I have now finally finished the detail stuff on the deck! So, I'm starting the rigging. As I've never done this before and the AL instructions are very minimalist, can anyone advise me how slings are done onto blocks and double blocks. It seems that one uses .25mm rigging wire to form a loom, then twist wire around itself and then pass through the block and tie off? is that the go??? And then the 'rope' ties onto the loops???

Wow. I cannot believe its been a year since we last saw this one - time goes so quickly but what a great looking model you have there.

Your finishing looks just like the quality models you would see in a museum - looks really very nice.

You have made a lovely job of the bowsprit assemble.

This is the point a lot of care is needed in moving the whole assemble around so that nothing gets snapped off.

Hope it all continues well.

In the past couple of weeks I have made up and installed 40 chain plates. Very labour intensive as each had to be hand bent with pliers from lengths of brass wire. I've also installed an anchor. Also I pulled off all 30 mooring bits and reshaped them to something closer to the real items. Again they were tricky to work on as they are only a few mm in size!

This week I'm working on construction of mast top platforms and trestle trees.

The fun continues! The best spent $290 ever!
