Hello all, After lurking around this site and the Model Space online store I am curious as to why 1/84th scale is used, why not 1/96 which is an easy convert to 1/8" = 1'. Is this a metric deal?? What is 1 foot 1/84 scale? I.E. in inches how wide is a foot?? Forgive my dullness on this but the math is alluding me??? Breck

Hmmm, is it 3/16" = 1 foot?

It’s based on how large we want a particular model to be

It just seems odd to me that plastic kits have standard scales while ship kits seem to be all over the place....just my silly 2 cents!! But your answer makes sense.
