08/11/2017 Protruding ends of front wall bulwark cover cut to flush with side covers... made lots of shallow cuts for poop deck bulwark cover to able to bend it around its tight radius... now need to soak in water to make it more pliable... By the way it’s insanely freezing in my garage 🤧⛄️ gingerale75 attached the following image(s): Happy building! Laszlo Finished builds: HMS Victory, HMS Victory Cross-Section

11/11/2017 Plan A failed, the strip with shallow cuts, despite of soaking in water, snapped when tried to bend. As I have got limited number of strips in the kit I can’t afford to keep trying and maybe got succes for the 10th attempt 😳... here comes Plan B... I’ll form the curves from a block of hard wood by keep sanding them to shape... ... GRRRR 😡🤬🤯 Plan B also didn’t work... the benefit of the hard wood (that it’s actually hard) becomes disadvantage during the final shaping when it’s only 2mm thick/thin and need sanded. It requires quite a force with the needle file while supported on the other side... now second piece snapped... Plan C... try to make it from extreme soft wood (balsa). gingerale75 attached the following image(s): Happy building! Laszlo Finished builds: HMS Victory, HMS Victory Cross-Section

12/11/2017 Plan C from balsa wood seems worked OK... well, still snapped twice but it wasn’t problem, I have lots of balsa blocks, also much quicker to shape it... two bulwark curved covers sanded... hopefully won’t cause problems later on that they’re very soft. Instructions checked in advance, they won’t be stressed. ... Curved bulwark covers glued in place, partially painted. Will be fully painted after rear section of covers fitted and sanded flush. They cut to size already, partially painted, now waiting to get it dry. Will be glued in place just before I go to sleep to allow sanding and final painting tomorrow. ... Rear section of poop deck bulwark covers glued in place. Will be sanded and painted tomorrow. gingerale75 attached the following image(s): Happy building! The hull main structure now completed, will be put aside for a while. It looks quite good already. 😊Next time when it will be touched will start to paint the lower hull, but now let’s start working on the masts. gingerale75 attached the following image(s): Happy building! Hi Shipmates, Phew... I now posted all pictures made since I restarted the build, I copied the comments from my Facebook posts, I apologies if some posts includes two obvious information for the experts who might read might posts here but on facebook my friends has no clue about what is what on a ship. :) Well... I also know the shipping terms only from the magazine, a don't know them either without help, specially not in English. By the way, originally I'm from Hungary. :D:D:D Please feel free to comment my build, I'm open for any positive or negative criticism. Remember, this is my first ever wooden model hence I'm open for all advise & suggestions. Happy building Happy building! Laszlo Finished builds: HMS Victory, HMS Victory Cross-Section
