I have been inside a few b17s at airshows.I signed up for a ride in one but it was cancelled due to the weather. You really have to take your hat off to the brave men who climbed into these airplanes in WW2. They are pretty cramped inside and the walkway over the bomb bay is pretty precarious.
I was at an airshow where a couple of WW2 vets who had piloted b17s were there. The air force had a few airmen that helped to get these old guys physically into the airplanes. It was nice to see just how respectful and kind they were to these old heroes. One of the guys was really frail, but they got him into the cockpit very carefully.
