Coming soon to a sky near you in the UK. December the 3rd at 4:47pm is the date and time that the Moon will be at it`s nearest point in its orbit to Earth. I got a few nice pics early in the morning in the spring... The pic here has been enhanced in Photoshop to sharpen it and bring out the details. It was taken through a SkyWatcher 160 Synscan telescope using a little compact camera held to the eyepiece, at about 8.00 am. Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

they call it a supermoon in USA, but in reality the moon is only about 14% larger at is perigee than at its apogee.
