Next i added all the fittings of the quarterdeck.

I produces some additional kevels not mentioned in the instructions.

The next project was the companionway - which turned out to be a small scale model of it`s own.

First i made the stairs - which went well this time.

Then i made the base out of various wood-strips - stained in walnut.

Next were the pillars.

I used the provided pillars and added small pieces of a 2x2mm Strip on both Ends - a very fiddly task!

Next came the handrails!!
I wanted to form them as in the original.

That meant to build each rail out of four pieces of 1x1 strips, connected in various angles.

It took me some hours to get it right!

For the round heads of the pillars i tried different carvings - and finally had the idea to use some spare cannonballs - which had the exact right size!

The Quarterdeck is now finished!!

That is a very neat idea to use the cannon balls as decoration on the railings.
