It's a great fun build, especially as it is effectively 23+ kits in all. Looking forward to seeing your build diary.

Great choice Joel.I am halfway through the extra pod set and it is really nice. Are you planing on doing a stock build or will you be modifying it.I will be watching this with interest.

I am debating on my direction still. I am waiting till I get some of the part for the pods so I can get an idea of sizing. That will determine if I build it as the TB2 or a Mecha Drop Ship/Transport. DeAgostini kit builds:

Ok so as you can see by the title I have decided to go the route of turning this into a mech transport and dropship. I love the versatile design of the TB2 and will keep it as such. I am still brain storming on exactly how this will turn out. A lot of it has to do with space and size of the mech models I use. So things will progress and change as I get more parts. Also as I have been test fitting and assembling more ideas pop into my head. As far as the assembly of the TB2 parts I will post the information and photos based on the stages. There will be extra/supplemental posts for extra stuff and mods. I have also purchased three different mech kits for testing. I will not post them yet as I haven’t decided which ones I am using. They will be included in this build diary when I have decided which ones are getting used. I will also be using some of, but not all of the vehicles that come with the TB2. Those details will be covered in the post of the stage dealing with them. DeAgostini kit builds:

Ok first up is Stage 1. This included the front upper fuselage for the TB2 and the first half of the build for Elevator Car #1. This is normally a simple step. Just adding the cockpit windows to the fuselage. I took it a bit farther. First I removed all the Thunderbird wording and numbers. Then I panel lined the details to make them pop. Finally I added some red paint to the edges of the fuselage. I did this to help the seams blend a little better when the other fuselage parts are mounted. As far as the elevator car. I may or may not use it. Gonna make a decision on that later. So for now the parts have been bagged and set aside for later. Metal Mech attached the following image(s): DeAgostini kit builds:

Stage 2. For the TB2 it’s just gluing the pilot chair to the interior piece. Also more parts for the elevator car. Bagged up with the others and saved for later. Metal Mech attached the following image(s): DeAgostini kit builds:

Next up Stage 3. This stage I installed the rest of the interior parts onto the cockpit section. The instructions said to glue the bulkhead in place. I left it unglued just in case I need to repair or replace the LED lights. After everything was glued in place the interior section was screwed down inside the fuselage. Also with this stage was the first half of Thunderbird 4. Not going to use this vechicle for the build. So bagged up the parts and packed them away.
