Here I go again, starting version 2 of my RB7 build diary. I wasn't able to save my original version but that's ok as I have the photos and just need to recall the words to go with them. It's great to see some of the original builders have also continued with the new format of the diary's. I tackled my build from a different angle and didn't follow the same route as just following the sequence as described in each issue, I elected to build the chassis and all the running gear before starting of any of the body work. So I'll have a look at the photos and start with some words shortly. Chasecar

Wow this is quite a task to rebuild my diary, I've recovered the images from Photobucket but without the words they don't really tell the story. It's not going to be the quick Sunday afternoon session I though it was going (hoping) to be. I had decided to tackle my build a little different from the follow along as the issues became available and wanted to build the chassis and running gear before starting on the body work. This was driven by a couple of reasons like I was quite confident with building the mechanical side of the car but unsure about the body and how to finish it off. There was so much talk on the forum about whether to paint the body or not or use a clear coat only and what type not to mention the effect on the transfers. This is the first time I laid out some parts to make a start. Chasecar attached the following image(s): Chasecar

I started with the front control arm assembly. This is a lot harder than expected trying to recall the sequence I followed and all the wording that was originally put in - thanks photobucket Chasecar attached the following image(s): Chasecar

Assembling the front shocks was next. I took some time to make sure that the ride height was the same for both shocks. Chasecar attached the following image(s): Chasecar

It was around this time that the Wife's fur ball started to also take an interest in helping with sorting parts so some protection was needed. Chasecar attached the following image(s): Chasecar

Really good to see you back with this one. I fully understand the issues with photo recovery as I had several years of work to recover myself. A Google attachment was of great help in my "Quest", but it seems that Photobucket has now stopped that working. I think one can still download pics to a PC, but not known for sure. Now the other issue FUR BALLS No cure for that except find a room you can lock them out of. (Not always available, I know) I`ve found numerous long lost items behind, under and even inside obscure items in the past and they show their guilt with the look of: "Oh I wondered where that went, let me play with it again" Good luck with your recovered build. I look forward to future updates. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

It must have been around now that we had enough parts to put three wheels together. Chasecar attached the following image(s): Chasecar
