Hi Guys, Just a quick question. I have just lined the one side of the build. And have a question about the lining of the doors on either side.
The question is this.
After having cut out the door, and made sure the bottom of it is nice and neat, and flush with the mock planking, why then does it have to be lined at the bottom?
Has everyone else lined the door all the way round? Or left the bottom unlined as I am thinking of doing?
Thanks in advance.
Jim

Hi, I have lined all the way round as per the instructions as there must be a reason. There appears to be a ladder on the outside of the hull and maybe it is fixed to the step, we shall see all in good time. Enjoy your build CMB

Hi Jim! The bottom of the entry port lining is in fact a step as you enter the ship you step down onto the deck. Think of it this way you wouldn't want to have thing's roll out the door

Hi Jim. I have done as per instructions and completely lined all ports and doors..the bottom of the door being a step on the real Victory. as Son of Bulwark got that answer in before me... happy building mate... Current Builds: Deagostini HMS Victory: Deagostini HMS Sovereign of the seas. Completed Builds: Del Prado: HMAS Bounty: Hachette: RMS Titanic: Del Prado: Cutty Sark...

also worth noting the frame of the entery ports is a feature on the ship see perfecting the entery port in the build discussion forum. “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

Thanks everyone, If it has a step on the original ship then I will put the step on mine.
Thanks
Jim
