Hi Shipbuilders I received my next batch of Mags yesterday and to my disappointment the part I need, to continue with the build, the 6x4mm cannon support planks were not supplied only a standard packet of planking planks. I phoned CS who will resend issue 27 which from experience takes 2 weeks. I asked them to insure that the correct planks are included. I do not want a repeat of part 31 saga. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Happy building (when you get the correct parts) Athol

I know its no consolation but its likely to be a one off packing error, the majority of people are way beyond 27.

Just an update. I decided to wait for 2-3 weeks for the replacement will drive me up the wall.
I have made a composite plank by glueing two hull planks face to face and a third one on the 4mm side and trimmed this plank to 4 mm. I ended up with a 7x4mm plank. I hope the extra mm in height will not cause any problems down the road.
Happy building

Hi all Thanks for the note on issue 27, I’m only relieved to say, I received everything. At this moment I’m busy to build a MFV fishing trawler from plans, so I will get going with my Victory when I receive issue 39. Albatross, build in 1982 from plans. Hms Bounty, build in 1987 from plans. Duyfken, build in 1991 from plans Oosterland, build in 1998 from plans 2010 Hms Victory kit from Deagostini
In the meantime. 2011 Building MFV 1963 fishing trawler from plan.

Sietse, I am STILL waiting for my resend of issue 14 with the faulty part 31. The SECOND resend. I already canceled with DeAgostini and went to CNA, the irony, I was about 8 issues behind haha.
Anyway, I had the same problem. I am still on the build part of issue 14, driving me nuts, already on my third "filler ship". I didn't even bother with saying I need a new part 27. I just went and bought a balsa stripper and some balsa wood. Just making my own, this mass production faults is one of the BIG horrors of this build unfortunately.

Hi Gan_Javi The Victory kit is nice, but if you start to struggle, with parts ore an outstanding magazine, how can you enjoy it, are we paying R 8 394.00 for stress haha. Take not: The last 3 month Jacklin gave me a good service, ore Am I only lucky hihi. I prefer to build my models from plans, don’t need to worry that I’m going to short an issue or a part. It’s more time consuming but at least I enjoy the relaxation. I’ll put up pictures of my MFV fishing trawler on this forum in the near future. Albatross, build in 1982 from plans. Hms Bounty, build in 1987 from plans. Duyfken, build in 1991 from plans Oosterland, build in 1998 from plans 2010 Hms Victory kit from Deagostini

That is exactly why I cancelled with them and went back to CNA. I immediately jumped up 8 issues, which means I'm where all the others in SA are.
But like I said, my biggest grip is this: I have the first deck on, and that's it. I still need to sort out the issue 14 problem. It's been unmoved apart from cleaning in over 3 months which <peeps> me off. Especially when I see how beautiful some of the other model logs are atm. Secondly, I do understand your frustration. We pay money, but the general quality checking concerning packaging is something terrible. 2 major faults in the space of 13 issues, and this goes well over 100.
It makes me wonder what I am up against going further into the build. Luckily I have my inbetween builds lol.

I had the same problem with the enigmatic part 31, Eventually I ended up making my own part from the incorrectly supplied parts. Waiting in nervous anticipation as my next batch should contain issue 27.......

Waiting in nervous anticipation as my next batch should contain issue 27....... Stefan, I'm still waiting on my second replacement for part 31. How did you get the correct dimensions to modify the double of 30? I'm considering doing that if it doesn't work out on my side. Much easier for sure.

I traced the curve from the parts that gets stuck to it, (2 curves - topmost which is the cut and one ~2mm below it (to fit half of the galley support bits (parts 38?). Then I used the Dremel to reduce the outside curve till it matched the pictures
