What a lovely looking ship Martyn.I have to agree the gold does look stunning against the blue.looking at the finished photo's on the shop page there are rings fitted to the gun port lids, maybe that's what they're for. Man he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day will cease to be Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

Cheers Nightwisher The ones for the gunport lids are only 3mm so a little confused on why I have at least 36 of the 8mm ones but hayho they will come in handy on another build Thanks again for the bril comments Rgd Martyn Building ? Hi all and thanks for the comments A bit more done on the SR after the mayhem of Christmas I have finished rigging the cannons and the rope coils Next job building the lower mast,s . These have been made as per instructions apart from the main and four halyard blocks as I have decided to use a different method for the main and four halyard lifts The back stays where made first with the loops made round a off cut of mast and served with some thin thread These were then led down to the dead eyes and using a jig to keep them the same hight the thread was cut off to the right length and served round the dead eye. Once completed it was rigged to the lower dead eye The same technique will be used for all the shrouds Cheers for following Martyn Martyn Ingram attached the following image(s): Building ? Completed. Martyn Very nice update. Like the figures you are adding. That picture looking from mast top to deck looks terrifying even in model format. They must have had a nerve to go up there especially when the ship was being bounced around in rough seas. Happy Modelling

Thanks for the comments guys A bit more done on the Sol . The shrouds and back stays have been fitted to the formast and main . Also fitted the ephro block and crowfoot to the mainstay ,as you can see I have served the knots to keep them neat Next job tying the ratlines not my favourite job but I brake them up by having side projects like making the flag lockers. I have changed the lockers by making them out of spare gratings and some thin walnut Back to fitting the ratlines Cheers for following Martyn Martyn Ingram attached the following image(s): Building ?
