With the 80s coming back in style how about an autonomous Johnny 5 from Short Circuit analogous to Robi or the R2?

That`s a cracking idea, I love Johnny 5.

"johnny 5 is alive".

A robot with attitude - i can see the appeal in that one.
Happy Modelling

agreed, that licence would be nice, but at what scale?

R2, as a half scale, has plenty of room to put most of the electronics, but the drive motors are a pretty tight fit in places.

Robbi is smaller, but also well proportioned. He doesn't require the power that R2's motors need, so they can be considerably smaller,

Johnny 5, on the other hand, is a lot of tubular shapes. The smaller the scale, the less room there will be for any electronics. A half-scale might be workable, I suppose, but I don't see it being possible much below that size. Even then, I doubt it would have some of the capabilities seen in the full size movie prop. The 'eye' lenses and iris arrangements could be a problem at half scale too.

If only Deagostini could make an automaton that could 'walk' on two simple legs, I'd love a set of three 'drones' from the film "Silent Running".
