Just a shame that the “Daily Fail” have no idea what a Dambuster Lancaster looks like
They’ve titled the article “Inside the mighty Dambuster” yet not a single photo of a Dambuster Lancaster - all photos shown are of the Bomber type rather than the Special Provisioning 464 Dambuster type - two aircraft variants Oops!
A few very noticeable differences:
The bomb bay was heavily modified to carry the special Upkeep bomb. Callipers and a belt driven system added which held and rotated the Upkeep. The mid upper gun turret was removed to compensate for the Upkeep bomb. No capacity for other bombs, it was Upkeep specific.

Thr Dambuster Lanc’s which survived the raid (including Gibson’s), were repaired and returned to conventional bomber operations. But because of the extensive modifications it was impossible to re-fit the bomb doors. With no bomb bay doors, the aircraft were likely configured to drop 12,000 lbs HC “blockbuster” bombs. The Dambuster Lanc’s which survived the war were scrapped between 1946/47 😱
What happened to all of the Dambuster 464 Types is noted in this link: http://www.lancaster-archive.com/bc_damsraid6.htm

A fascinating insight into the Dambuster planes themselves, and must have taken a lot of work to compile. Wonder if we will see a Dambuster in the RAF 100 build???
