Did say stage 25 would be a short one so here it is in all its glory. Here we simply remove the remainder of the ribs showing above the deck. The best way I found to achieve this was with a fresh blade, slowly trim the rib a little at a time being very careful not to damage the decking at all. Once trimmed, gave the areas a fine sand.... That's the end of stage 25, in the next stage we finish off the decking so until then, happy modelling..... Regards Alan Gandale attached the following image(s):

Thanks for looking in Jase, appreciated.... Next part of the build was to finish off the decking. Gave the whole deck a fine sand and to keep the lower deck free from dust I filled the deck area with tissue. Once the deck was cleaned off the lines between the planks were drawn using a small ruler and sharp pointed pencil. Starting from the centre of rib 6 marked the ends of the planks in the same way to represent the tree nails, the markings were set at 38mm apart. When everything was done gave the whole deck two coats of satin varnish to finish off. That brought to an end stage 26, next stage has us working on the bulwarks so until then, happy modelling all..... Regards Alan Gandale attached the following image(s):

Comments greatly appreciated guys, thank you..... In this stage we had to raise the level of the bulwarks in the central and bow areas. Firstly, cleaned off the tops of the planks of any residue paint to ensure good contact area for the new strips. Strips required bending to follow the curvature of the hull and this was done by the use of an electric plank bender. Cut and glued the strips in place, three strips for each side of the hull. When dry, moved onto marking the heights of the bulwarks on the inside, following the measurements given in the instructions. This brought an end to stage 27, in the next stage we adjust the bulwark heights and cut out the gun ports on the upper deck. Until then, happy building all..... In this session we reduced the bulwark heights to the lines drawn in the previous stage and sanded the tops smooth. Then marked out the position of the gun ports using the measurements outlined in the instructions. Noticed here the instructions do not give a measurement for the depth of the ports nor do they say how far the base of the ports should be from the level of the deck. After some studying of the pics I settled on having the base of the ports set at 4mm above the deck. Then moved onto to cutting out the ports using a fine toothed saw and flat needle files. This ended stage 28, next stage we move onto lining the bulwarks.... Happy modelling all..... Regards Alan Gandale attached the following image(s):

Thanks guys, appreciated as always..... Stage 29 was also a short one, the finishing off of the inner bulwarks. Started by sanding the inner bulwarks smooth. Bulwarks were then lined using 0.5 x 4mm strips. When dry the gun ports were cut out and the tops were trimmed. Gave everything a fine sand to finish off....
