I started buying the Jaguar E Type model for my husband who was suffering from cancer hoping it would give him something to aim for. Unfortunately he lost his fight with his cancer in October 2017, but I have decided to keep building the Jag in his honour. Can anyone tell me why the tyre issued with part 3 "The Spare Wheel" has a different tread pattern from the tyre issued with Part 41 "The Right Hand Wheel" although the details on the side of the tyres are identical.

Hi Jennifer, sorry to hear of your loss and hope that continuing the dream will bring you some comfort.

There is no real reason why the spare tyre differs other than it often being the case that a spare might differ in real life and I suppose it ad’s a bit of additional authenticity. Or you could always request a replace the of one of the later tyres supplied after issue 3 which would then match the 4 on-car tyres.

Welcome to ModelSpace and hope you enjoy your Jaguar Build Cool

I don't want to go over your past. That is genuinely bad enough for you.
Hopefully, I can welcome you as a new member in your own right.
NO disrespect intended.

PLEASE - post your build and if there is ANYTHING any of us can do - me included - just say so.

We are all here, totally nutty model builders.
Mind you, I'm saying that with good intent and I can only really speak for myself.

Keep all of us looney's updated with your build.

I for one, will be following.

Roy.
