How about a series with Airfix kits?
The latest series with Dinky Toys made me think of something similar with the early Airfix kits.
They could span the whole range and include figures aircraft, tanks and ships etc. They could be packaged in the early plastic bags with the folded instructions staples to the tom.
The magazine could include history of the kit, tips on building the kit, which modern paints to use etc

Interesting, but I hope that you are thinking of re-tooled models. Some of those early efforts were severely lacking compared to what could be produced these days. Still, the subject matter [tractors, aircraft, etc] could have a wide appeal, especially with collectors who model. they can still collect the originals, but build the modern versions. Current Builds Eaglemoss: Ecto-1, BTTF Delorean [Installing Mods] Hachette: T800 Endoskeleton Agora Models Shelby Cobra 427 [Plate 031] BanDai 1:5000 Imperial Star Destroyer AMT 1991 U.S.S. Enterprise Bridge [Installing Mods & Lights]
Finished Builds Deagostini: R2-D2 [Never getting batteries]

Actually think thats a really good Idea. I would definitely buy into that “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain
