There are a few kits of this already.Pegasus hobbies makes one in plastic and there are detail sets available for this one and Masterpiece models makes a 16 inch and 31 inch version of the sub in resin.

There are indeed some nice kits out there. There are slightly different designs - the Pegasus version has elongated central window sections compared to the design seen most frequently and used for the Comet Miniatures vac-form kit, and the design from the League of Extraordinary Gentleman - and different levels of detail. But how about making one that looks good from the outside, but has the electronics that make it remote control? I would love a Nautilus I could take somewhere, slip it in the water, and run it round for a while. Obviously positive buoyancy would be a must, so that if it looses signal, it rises to the surface where it will be much easier to recover. Maybe some lighting in the 'eyes', preferably red or yellow. It would be amazing. Current Builds

Well that’s just great. Now I want a RC submarine haha. Good thing I don’t have the cash or I would probably have just ordered one.

Thanks Tomick. Unfortunately, all 3 versions of the Nautilus, and the version of the Seaquest, are static kits. Only the Seaquest is definitively stated as suitable for RC conversion. The market for a fully functional RC Nautilus is still open. Good looking kits though. Current Builds

Good looking kits though. Incorrect, if you look to the right on both 1/77 version's, he also offers RC option kits to go with them...
Our conversion package includes the following, which includes the majority of what you'll need to get a fully functional version of the boat completed:
-Hull Kit
-75MHz radio system: (6 channel, computerized)
-SubDriver cylinder
-LiPo batteries
-Tilting propeller bracket: (brass, soldered)
-3D printed cylinder mounting brackets
-Brass tubing for conversion of rudder, front ram holddown and linkages
-Universal joint
-55mm brass scimitar propeller

Fair enough, I didn't spot that earlier. Still, I'd rather get one through a partwork at this stage. [mainly health issues and a certainty that I'd make a better job of it from a partwork. Current Builds

Highly unlikely for an RC sub to appear as a Partwork as the concept has already been market tested. It’s use (as is the use of all RC sub’s) is limited by having access to a suitable diving pool, which restricts its appeal/purchase by the masses.
As it happens, a Partwork company did a market test of the Thundertiger Neptune sub a number of years ago which also had FPV so you could see where it was heading and was an early version of this: https://www.thundertiger...oducts-detail.php?id=42
It didn’t make it beyond its market test for the reason stated. Obviously if you have a pool it’s not a problem, but in the main most people don’t and is also why the RC sub market will never grow much bigger than it is let alone the high cost being a factor of the more complex sub’s.
