Good evening from 'The Dockyard'.

This weeks update sees further progress with the pin wash on the port side. Just a few areas to rework and touch in will see this side completed! BigGrin

.

The starboard side should be a quicker affair what with all the compartment cut-outs reducing the overall area.

The attached photo shows the port bow.

I also took delivery of a U-boat lighting kit this week from Small Scale Lights. I've been on the waiting list for about a month and look forward to fitting this kit in a month or so.

All of the LED's have to wired in by the modeller.

This photo shows the bag containing the R/WW [red/warm white] bi-colour LED's to be used n the Control Room.

The Control Room would go to 'red lighting' at sunset and sunrise so that the OOW [Officer of the Watch], manning the search periscope, would have time for his eyes to adjust to the change in light outside. Especially important at night.

This photo shows the bag containing the navigation lights. Labelled as R/G/WW [Red - port, Green - starboard and White].

The red and green will be fitted to the conning tower and the white one located near the stern.

Excellent work on your weathering Phil, I love the way it is looking in post numbers #1721 and #1723, very realistic and perfectly in scale too, looks like it's been out in the Atlantic for six months! Top job, well done! Drool
